Property owner Carol Montoto has always been a huge fan of David Bromstad, host of HGTV’s Color Splash, a home makeover show that transforms tired rooms into vibrant spaces. Working with his Miami-based team, David creates unique designs that play off of color and completely transform the look and feel of a home.
In 2010, Carol heard news that Color Splash was moving from San Francisco to Miami, and she vowed to find a way to be on the show. Carol submitted a video audition, answered questions from producers and was ultimately chosen for show!
She had been living in her Miami townhome for a year, but said both the yard and dining room needed work. Luckily, Color Splash agreed to make over both areas in just three days, and the results completely changed the look and feel of her entire townhome.
Keeping in account Carol’s personality and style, HGTV delivered an amazing new look to the Miami townhome from the inside out. Not only did Color Splash liven-up her property’s look, but also its value.
“The makeover definitely increased the value of my property. They landscaped the yard and laid Astroturf, which is low maintenance and looks great. They even provided outdoor furniture!” Unique light fixtures, wall art and paint also contributed to the new look of Carol’s property. “The results were simply amazing.”
The makeover motivated Carol to redecorate and fix up of the rest of her townhouse. So, when Carol decided to relocate from Miami to Atlanta, she wanted to keep her townhome and rent it out. She soon realized she needed to find a tenant fast and that it would also be too difficult for her to manage the place upon moving to Atlanta. That’s when a friend suggested Pedro Cedeno of Real Property Management Dade.
Since working with Real Property Management, Carol has been most impressed with how easy it is to work with them to meet her needs. “It’s great to have someone oversee my property when I’m not there. Pedro helped us get our place rented quickly at a great rate. It’s also a huge relief for them to handle the dirty work, like paperwork and maintenance issues. I look forward to a continued relationship with Real Property Management.”
While Carol was fortunate to have the experts make over her property, you can make similar changes yourself to update your rental property and make it more appealing for prospective tenants. Simple and affordable upgrades such as paint, wall art, and light fixtures not only increase your property value, but also make it easier to attract long-term, hassle-free reliable tenants who are willing to pay a higher rent rate.
